Linda: Ready for Disney World
After major surgery at a short-term acute care
hospital, Linda was unable to be weaned post-op from the ventilator. Linda was
transferred to Kindred Hospital Louisville on November 24 for ventilator
weaning, medical management and rehabilitation.
At Kindred Hospital Louisville, Linda’s course of care
enabled optimization of her cardiovascular status, weaning from the ventilator,
and having her trach removed. She was discharged home January 9.
A few months later Linda returned to see the staff at
Kindred.
“I wanted the staff to know how much I appreciate all
their care and hard work while I was at Kindred,” she said.
From the front desk clerk, to the unit, to the rehab
department and nursing staff, everyone was moved to tears, smiles and laughter when
she told them how much she appreciated all that they had done for her and that
she would be more than happy to talk about Kindred to prospective families and
patients.
Today Linda is able to enjoy spending time with her family
and the light of her life, her nine-year-old grandson. She is looking forward
to their yearly family vacation at Disney World.
